Madame Amel Abdelatif insiste sur la nécessité de structurer le commerce électronique afin qu'il se développe de manière "organisée et responsable"

Mrs Amel Abdelatif emphasized the need to structure electronic commerce so that it develops in an "organized and responsible" manner.

The Minister of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation, Amel Abdelatif, emphasized on Wednesday in Algiers the need to structure electronic commerce so that it develops in an "organized and responsible" manner, notably by avoiding the emergence of any parallel activity outside legal frameworks.

This was said during a speech delivered at the opening ceremony of the fourth edition of the e-commerce and digital services exhibition "Excel Expo," in the presence of the Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Small and Medium Enterprises, Nourredine Ould, the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerouki, the Delegate Minister in charge of Digitalization, Meryem Ben Mouloud, and representatives from several ministries.

Mrs. Abdel Latif explained that "the vision of the domestic trade sector and the regulation of the national market is based on digitization, which relies on trust, knowledge, and transparency, as well as on the principle of an organized market that represents the true guarantor of the balance between freedom of economic initiative and consumer protection, which ensures a fair and efficient business environment for the benefit of all."

This vision also relies on achieving economic and financial inclusion by integrating parallel commercial activities into the national economy, adds the minister.

She considered that the expansion of activities in the digital space today imposes a real transformation in the world of commerce, which pushes her ministry to intensify its efforts to "establish a modern digital environment that encourages new ideas and allows young people to launch their online business projects, thereby contributing to creating real added value for our national economy."

This is being realized thru the updating of the legal framework governing electronic commerce, the continued awareness and encouragement of merchants to use electronic payment solutions in collaboration with banking institutions, as well as the digitization of commercial and administrative services to simplify procedures, facilitate business registration, and obtain trade licenses thru electronic platforms, the minister states.
